The Art of Archery

V.E.T.S. Archery Program Overview

At V.E.T.S., archery transcends the pursuit of hitting targets. It becomes a journey of self-discovery, focusing on breathing, balance, and presence. Our program, guided by certified USA Archery instructors, invites veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders to engage in this ancient art form. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned archer, you’ll find a welcoming space to explore the meditative rhythm of drawing, aiming, and releasing. Join us in embracing archery as a path to inner peace, offered at no cost to participants.

"Fall in love with shooting arrows, not hitting bullseyes"

Thor Torgersen, V.E.T.S. Executive Director

Part of a Bigger Picture

Rebuilding Through Tradition

At V.E.T.S., our archery program is more than just a skill-building activity; it’s a vital part of a holistic journey towards healing and personal growth. By integrating archery with equine therapy, outdoor survival, and culinary arts, we create a comprehensive path for veterans and first responders to reconnect with themselves and their communities. Archery sharpens focus and encourages mindfulness, while equine therapy fosters trust and emotional awareness. Our outdoor survival courses teach self-reliance, and culinary arts build community and self-confidence. Together, these experiences form a transformative process, guiding participants to rebuild their lives with resilience and purpose.
